Teachers! Are you looking for a place where you can share your knowledge of a subject you are passionate about with enthusiastic students in a supportive environment?

If so, we want to talk to you about who we are and why you want to teach here.

Urban Homeschoolers is a little like college for kids. Our students, with guidance from their parents, choose the classes they take based on interests and academic goals. Our classes are small—from five to 16 students. Where appropriate, their in-person classes are supplemented with online learning. Our students spend time in the community as volunteers and activists. They go on field trips to galleries and museums, go out into nature, and spend time actively playing in the schoolyard. They learn in many ways.

Social learning is a strong component of our program. We are non-coercive, non-shaming, and support positive conflict resolution.

You’ll also find a diverse community of teachers, many of whom have been with us since we opened seven years ago with just 12 students. They come from many cultures and backgrounds. Some have taught at Waldorf, others in private and public schools. They each bring something unique to the table. They are united by a passion for teaching and a dedication to their students.

If you are interested in teaching here or would like to be a substitute, we urge you to look at our course catalog to see the types of classes we offer. Send your resume to . And then, let’s talk!
