Dan West spent the end of the 20th Century honing his musical palette in Los Angeles. He began performing professionally in clubs from the age of 12 playing guitar, bass, piano, and singing in a scene that became known as The Paisley Underground. His music did not go unnoticed–his many vinyl and CD releases were regularly featured on Rodney Bingenheimer’s legendary, Rodney on the ROQ radio show.
He has performed on stage and on record with artists ranging from Sky Saxon of The Seeds and Bryan MacLean of Love to jazz artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Maynard Fergusson and Paula Kelly. He also performed, recorded and released albums with his own groups Aguafantastica, Mono For One, Sidewalk Society and currently, LoveyDove.
As a teacher, Dan has worked privately in the field for over 20 years as well as teaching courses at Woodlowe Music Center (Woodland Hills) and Burbank Music Academy as well as college level Jazz History seminars at Cal State University, Northridge and Cal Arts.
