In this class, we will be exploring various forms of literature including but not limited to; poetry, folk tales, popular literature, chapter books, children’s books, etc. and basing our art projects off of what we read. Some books or sections of books will be assigned or read together in class. Themes and visual qualities will be discussed and derived as a class, and visual and tangible art pieces will be created to embody these features. This class will function both in person and remotely through zoom and emailed reading materials. Scanned or photocopied sections of reading will be provided, purchasing the books themselves is optional but not discouraged. A kit of art supplies will be provided at the beginning of the semester, both for use in class and at home.

Join us for a imaginative exploration of theater arts! Through storytelling, games, activities and circles, we cover the basics of vocal projection, character development, creative movement, physical expression, theater language and beyond.
Of course, always leaving room at the top for something magical and unexpected to happen! Kids are involved in the creation of an original play, as well as possible exploration of traditional theater pieces, fairy tales and musical numbers.
It results in a short presentation at open house, and also in fun, confidence and creativity.

Los Angeles is a mecca of diversity, creativity and individuality and it deserves to be embraced. In this mixed ages artist community, the primary focus will be local and living artists: their work, style and story.
Topics will include local painters, muralists, sculptors and mixed media artists. We will use these discussions to inspire our own version of their work. This class will be easily moved from online to in person and vice versa. An art kit with supplies needed for various projects will be provided. Whether in person or online, classes will start together as a group for the lesson, break apart during project time, then come together again at the end for students to share their work, discuss their process, and look to peers for positive feedback if so desired...basically, be a community of artists who inspire and support each other.
