Let’s Read, Learn, and Play together! In this unique mixed ages and skill leveled class, students get twice the fun to focus on their reading skills with Miss Angelia and Miss Julie. Whether online or in-person, this class is designed to begin with mixed group time before breaking out for individual skill leveled learning. Beginner readers work with Miss Julie using a variety of early readers, videos, and games to grow and strengthen their phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, and simple sentence and paragraph reading fluidity. Intermediate readers work with Miss Angelia on a variety of poetry and short stories. Literary analysis centers on setting, inferences, comparing and contrasting, characters, theme, cause and effect, predictions, point of view, conflict, and resolutions. We choose books depending on their online availability and the composition of the class.
We are prepared to work online or in the classroom as needed.

This in-person intro to Spanish class is for upper elementary students who want to learn Spanish but may not be ready for a formal academic class. We’ll learn basic conversation and vocabulary through songs, games, and stories, and we’ll speak as much as possible in Spanish. We’ll also learn about the history and cultures of people who live in places where Spanish is spoken, and we’ll use technology to offer authentic spoken Spanish.
This class will meet in person once a week but can meet online if necessary.
