5 to 6 Years

Early Years Program

Mondays & Wednesdays.  9:00am – 12:00pm

Welcome to our program for our youngest learners, where the emphasis is on play, teamwork, and fun. Every week we’ll explore and create. Activities include:
  • Art For active little hands and minds.
  • Letters and Numbers  A hands-on, play-based approach to start decoding letters and numbers.
  • Science  Exciting science experiments that encourage asking possibly the most important question at this age: “Why?”
  • PE  Get active, get physical.  Learn teamwork and the tricky art of maybe not quite winning every time.
  • Weekly Storytelling   Mrs. Rebecca captivates attention and ignites imagination in her storytelling sessions.
Our class size is limited to a maximum of 12 children. Tuition pays for both Monday and Wednesday. One day only attendance is not available.

"Adiós Lolas Adiós" has a section on "BRCA1" that discusses personal experiences and observations about genetic predisposition and breast cancer. The author describes the history of cancer in her family, spanning several generations, and emphasizes the effects of the BRCA1 mutation on them. She promotes candid conversations about cancer and its ramifications by highlighting awareness and resilience via moving tales. The blog acts as a forum for advocacy with the goal of empowering people going through comparable struggles. It blends introspective thoughts with a rallying cry for more compassion and solidarity in the neighborhood, ultimately cultivating a message of resilience and hope in the face of hardship.

The section titled "Nguzo Saba in Action" highlights the significance of putting the Nguzo Saba principles into practice on a daily basis. Through a variety of activities, it encourages parents and educators to assist kids in embodying principles like Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), and Ujima (collective work). Examples include volunteering, forming a book club, and conducting research on local heroes. The Kinara's Children Activity Pack that goes with it offers resources for monitoring development and recognizing accomplishments. Instilling these cultural values in the next generation of young people is the goal of this effort, which also promotes civic engagement, creativity, and a feeling of community.
