We are never too young to start learning about other people and cultures! This class will use music, art, dance, and even food to learn about how people in other parts of the world spend their days. We will do a monthly “pot luck” whether in-person or online, and students will have the chance to do “show and tell” of interesting things they learn about the countries we are studying, learn songs and dances, and create art. Materials: Basic art materials -- construction paper, crayons/markers, glue, scissors, paint.
1 hr. Fridays, 10:00am - 11:00am

This class will be studying famous people that already have a page in history. They may be a people like Albert Einstein, Queen Elizabeth, Jackie Robinson, Michelle Obama, Maya Angelou, Alexander Hamilton, Frieda Kahlo, Frank Lloyd Wright. It’s so hard to choose! As we move forward with the possibility of being online next year we can also imagine visiting some of the places where these people have left their mark, whether it’s a baseball field, art museum, or some local homes with interesting architecture. These people may be part of our distant or recent past, or still making their mark today. The children will be familiar with the names of most of these people, but don’t know much about them yet! We will be jumping into our studies by using the “Who Was” series published by The Penguin Group.
