We create a time and a space to dive into Ancient Civilizations. Our class steps into the daily life of people from Mesopotamia and Egypt. Children spend the morning concentrating on one aspect of our studies when necessary or change gears to a different but related task. We learn about ancient people by studying their geography, government, religion, sports, and children’s toys and games.
Our class always goes outside for a break and some ancient sports. We read stories from each area, learning about the cradle of civilization and seeking the first superhero—Gilgamesh from Mesopotamia and hieroglyphs in hidden passages from Egypt. Their music and art lend themselves to on-going projects. Math and science are incorporated according to the children’s interest and level. Each civilization’s ingenious inventions made way for their societies’ progress. Have you seen The Towers of Babylon or a secret passage in a pyramid? We travel to these places on the Mediterranean Sea or the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.Tuition includes $25 materials fee.
