Join us for a wonderful introduction to a group experience for our younger students. Here the focus is on learning positivity, sharing, taking turns, listening to each other and feeling seen and heard. Social-Emotional intelligence is key as children learn to feel at home with each other.
With that as a base, together we journey into a gentle experience of numbers, math patterns, and letters and words connected to oral storytelling, and for those who already read, getting to share that too. Science experiments that connect to art projects are presented each week, and also singing and basic music notation.
We also have nature-based activities and science units on astronomy, chemical reactions, natural formations, geography and weather. Singing, breath work and basic music notation are woven into the lessons as well. Kids also learn a little American Sign Language, some basic Italian words, and have a chance to experience multi-cultural songs and stories. Lots of seasonal art and projects, and free play time inside and out for building trust and relationships. Our time also includes physical movement - stretching, dancing and outdoor games.
Kids bring a daily snack for themselves, though sometimes we have cooking class with snacks to share too.
